Location : Houston, TX, US. Job Description NetIQ is looking for a results-oriented team player to fill the role of Business Intelligence Analyst on the Sales Operations team. The BI Analyst will support strategic decision-making and ad hoc information requests as an internal business intelligence & reporting specialist, responsible for integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources. This is a hand-on position requiring thorough knowledge of SQL and proven ability developing complex queries and stored procedures in a relational database environment. Candidate must possess strong business communication skills and business problem-solving ability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Developing a comprehensive understanding of NetIQ's business processes, production systems, enterprise-wide data flows, source and target databases, and enterprise data warehouse and reporting environment Effectively translating business requirements into technical requirements, independently aggregating and analyzing data, and presenting it in a concise, professional format Maintaining and enhancing NetIQ's Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Portal environment including the development of multidimensional OLAP cubes using MS SQL Server tools Maintaining NetIQ's existing Crystal Reports, Contact List Pull Application, and other corporate reports, as needed Troubleshooting a variety of data issues related to operational processes and data flows Providing consultation to management regarding the interpretation of data and recommending further uses of the data for strategic planning purposes, requiring systematic thinking at both the conceptual and detail levels Required Skills Overall understanding of enterprise data warehouses, data marts and operational data stores; knowledge of the ETL and EAI technologies and data modeling is a plus Experience extracting data from various large relational databases and other sources, compiling and consolidating data Minimum of 3 years hands on experience with these tools: Microsoft SQL Server 2000, T-SQL (stored procedures, queries), DTS Packages, Business Intelligence report development, OLAP cube development using Microsoft Analysis Services/Microsoft Reporting Services and/or Cognos, Crystal Reports 8.x, Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio Minimum of 1 year experience with server & application management / administration Familiar with data quality & data management concepts; prior experience with Customer Information Management is also a plus Experience with enterprise system applications (Siebel CRM 7.5 and SAP R/3 4.6 is desired) Proven ability to deliver results in response to time-sensitive business performance and customer analytics requests; involves problem analysis, methodology development, technical execution, development of strategic recommendations, and presentation of findings to senior management Excellent project management and communication skills and ability prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong analytical and problem solving skills; consulting background is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent presentation skills Team player with a positive attitude and a desire to work in a collaborative environment BA or BS degree, Business background desired, MBA preferred Local candidates only Extend your knowledge.
