Role Summary/Purpose
To ensure that implementation is of a consistently high standard, following architectural design and detailed design; and meets requirements on time with excellent team effort.
Essential Responsibilities
Performing the detailed design, code, and unit test development activities
Ensuring that development activities comply with all company procedures and standards
Technical assessment of the impact of any changes to product requirements.
Contributes to the continued improvement of the organisation’s development procedures, by looking for opportunities for improvement and proposing ideas for solution.
Resolution of technical issues in conjunction with Team Lead/Module Lead
Ensuring that detailed designs, code, and unit tests, are consistent, robust, and scaleable.
Identification of technology training requirements
Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science/Electrical or Engineering, or equivalent experience. M.Sc/M. tech would be an advantage.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of Windows and Unix platforms and database technologies (preferably Oracle)
Design & development experience in OO and Component based Programming in Magik and VB/Java/C++/VC++/. Net
Desired Characteristics
Minimum 3-5 years experience developing software for medium and large application development projects. Full SDLC experience/knowledge required.
Preferred to have work experience for Enterprise Level Solutions in medium/large project team
Understanding of software design and development including programming languages (Magik, VB/Java/C++/VC++ and Oracle), hands on experience in OOAD and application architecture.
Knowledge in UML Oracle Data Model and/or ER Diagram
Experience in implementation of Data Model and/or ER Diagram according to different Normalization strategy
Hands on experience in PL/SQL Programming including hierarchical queries etc.
Experience in Oracle Objects, Packages, Views, Indexes, Synonyms and Oracle Net Products
Preferred to have software development experience in the Electrical Power System Domain
Must be focused on the delivery of customer value, in the form of executing software that meets the customer's needs.
Possess excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills, with the ability to move cleanly from theoretical to implementation thinking.
Must have experience of exhibiting excellent team work
