Description
On site Deskside, Software Application and Networking support for the staff of Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD). Position requires the ability to apply standard principles, theories and concepts to the resolution of end-user hardware systems, software application, operating system and networking IT issues within the LADOTD standard LAN/WAN infrastructure. Requires the performance of application and OS installations, rebuilds, upgrades and re-configurations. As such, position will require a proficient use of application troubleshooting and systems tuning techniques. Position will additionally requires a solid working knowledge of desktop computer/server and peripheral hardware configuration and support as well as experience in support of Microsoft's Server and PC Operating Systems (i.e. Windows Server 2000 and Windows XP Pro). Selected candidate will perform the above functions within a self-directed, on-site support role with only general supervision.

Job Requirements
NT/Win 2000/XP Professional software operations knowledge required. Prefer Microsoft Certified Professional. Must have Microsoft Office Professional product suite experience. Must also possess proficient working knowledge of network management and associated systems applications such as Antivirus and security protection. Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design Software (i. e. MicroStation and/or AutoCAD) a plus. Incumbent may be required to submit to, and pass, a State of Louisiana Criminal Record Background Check prior to beginning on site work.

Education
A Bachelors degree, or Associates Degree with 4+ years of relevant IT end-user client support experience, is preferred.

Job Description : 

The individual will be a member of the Development team responsible for development of J2EE applications for Insurance. The individual will be involved in UI development and customization of SEEC BCS components for SEEC customers.

Desired Profile :

Education and Experience Requirements 

• BS/MS Computer Science or MBA (Information Systems) 
• Minimum of 3-4 years experience 
• Application development/consulting experience in the financial services industry 
• Extensive experience in application development on J2EE environments – Java, Application Servers, XML, Web Services, JSP/JSF, Struts, XSD etc 
• Experience with Source Control Software, Microsoft Office Suite and UML modeling 
• Strong foundation and expertise to formal SDLC process 
• Extensive design and development skills, as well as , strong presentation, communication and organization skills

Desirable Skills

• Domain expertise in insurance and an understanding of business processes in insurance industry 
• Application development experience in the insurance industry 
• Exposure to IBM IAA and ACORD standards 
• Excellent documentation skills especially writing software specification documents 
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• To ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables is a default expectation
